A big thank you has to be extended to Lion Tim Lejcher for his organization of the 24th Annual Holiday Food Basket assembly and distribution project again this year.  This is a big project and without Tim's guidance and Herculean efforts it would not happen.  The collaboration between the Maple Grove Lions and the Maple Grove Firefighters Relief Association served 135 families this year throughout Maple Grove and the surrounding area. The food baskets are distributed mostly through local churches.

The Maple Grove Lions,  by holding events such as the Lions Pancake Breakfast in April, The Lions Corn Roast in July, The Lions Craft Sale in November, and Breakfast with Santa in December, along with other fundraising activities, raised over $10,000 for this event. Along with a matching donation from the Maple Grove Firefighters Relief Association, over $20,000 was spent with 100% going to the recipients in the form of food baskets.

A special Thank You to Rainbow Foods Maple Grove for their help in purchasing the food for this project and for helping us to stretch our dollars with a generous discount.

Also a big thank you to Malark Logistics of Brooklyn Park, MN for the donation of a truck and trailer as well as a driver to transport the food.

A complete list of upcoming events is listed on this site under Upcoming Events.  Please check it out  and support us at these events so that we may continue to serve the Maple Grove Community.
